What a milestone this is. There have been so many developments as of late. Today also marks 6 months of indentured servitude for mommy, but it's all worth it a thousand times over.
We have moved, again, but this time into a beautiful home in Kerrisdale which belongs to one of F's work colleagues, so we can stay through to April.
I continue to lose weight, and am fitting into just about all but my skinniest pre-pregnancy jeans. Unfortunately, that gloriously full and rich head of hair that I grew during the pregnancy is still falling out in tumbleweeds. My nails continue to grow quickly, but I'm still taking my daily mulitvitamins and Omega 3s which could account for this phenomenon.
As far as baby K goes, she's on the move, and there is no turning back. In the last week or so she's mastered the consecutive roll, linking 4-5 in a row, and is even capable of rolling out of her seat in the kitchen! Look out for this sneakly little devil. She's figuring out how to very handily get herself out of her swaddles at night, and we have had NO success whatsoever in putting her into a sleep sack. The first night's attempts lasted 2 hrs! and then we finally swaddled her and everyone was able to sleep again - it seems that there's a love/hate relationship with those darn swaddles... we're running out of room though so there's going to be a cry-fest or two in our near future when we are finally forced to make the transition.
Kalyna wants to be a biped and is standing up for as long as there's something to hold on to, like a couch or bookshelf, and has her spotter on hand.
She is turning into a real crocodile; capable of lunging at high speeds at anything in her general vicinity including toothbrushes, glasses of wine!, books, food, plants etc. No major accidents so far, but there have been some nice spills and lots of loud clatter.
Speaking of loud, this little baby is a babbler - best I can figure is that she takes after her motormouth daddy.
Potty training is going incredibly well! We haven't had a dirty diaper in over 3 weeks now and she is wildly flapping her arms anytime she needs to use the facilities. She gets very upset with us when we ignore the calls, AND when we don't show her the fruits of her labour after the fact:)
Stranger anxiety is starting up though, and she is becoming keenly aware of who her parents are, and who is not familiar - always checking with us for either a nod of approval or a scowl to direct her reaction to new people. She's bright alright.
We are really enjoying her more and more and she is turning into quite a strong and beautiful being... we are so very lucky.
