3 Months Old!

Kalyna is blooming! She is taking some major developmental leaps as of late. She has definitely developed a sense of humor as she'll giggle "ha, haha" at the oddest times, like when I pointed to jar of Dijon this morning, or when my hair was wet right out of the shower. She seemed to really enjoy when we sang the Smurf song to her and managed to detract from the crying fit.

This little one is ready to roll and is probably going to give us some major workouts once she is up and running. She can actually stand on her own 2 feet and take steps forward while bawling and protesting all the way... OK, we do need to hold her under her arms, but apart from that she's pretty solid and seems to want to do it all.

Her sense of self and space is also evolving. The other day I caught her chattering away and arguing with the other baby in the mirror (hanging over her chair) After a while she got fed up and started swatting at it to get out of her space, then started wailing when that other baby wouldn't get the message.

On the sleep front, Kalyna slept a record 8.5hrs for daddy on Father's Day! however, as all things are temporary in this world, she has now regressed a bit, and is sleeping between 5-6 hrs at a time at night. I suspect that she just can't keep enough calories in her system to feed the chubby thighs and chin of hers. Definitely a Kostyniuk trait...ravenous eaters we are.

For her 3rd month birthday, Kalyna reached out and started intentionally grasping at objects. IT was awesome to see her accomplish this task... now I just have to keep my eye out for all things that she's trying to shove into her mouth. So far it's been blankets, hands, toys and clothes.
